Daniel R. McKenzie, L.M.T. Owner and Founder
Dan attended Wellness and Massage Training Institute in 1990. He then went on to the Malone School of Massage to finish his training and learn sports massage. Dan's mother is a chiropractor and he has received chiropractic care for over 35 years. Dan has carried that knowledge forward to work with dozens of doctors in 5 different medical and chiropractic offices.
Dan continued specializing in sports massage and gained his certification with the National Sports Center Team. Dan has worked with olympic gymnast Betty Okino and javelin thrower Tom Puckstys. Dan received training on a type of polarity treatment called Spinal Touch, similar to Logan Basics and Sacral Occipital Therapy that works faster than any other treatment to realign posture.
Dan has worked countless events including: marathons, Ironman triathelons, swim meets, Pro-Am golf tournaments, WWF matches and cross country track meets. Dan also had the privilege of training with Mr. William "Dub" Leigh, on of two people in the world to be personally certified by Ida Rolf. Dan has held many wellness talks for the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association and the Elmhurst Police Department.
Dan has taught sports massage at the Advanced Anatomy Massage Academy, has worked at Courts Plus Health Club for the past nine years treating racquet sport players, and has spent the past ten years with the Jevitz Chiropractic Group doing treatments for the York cross country team under Coach of the Century - Mr. Joe Newton.
For the last ten seasons, Dan has been the team therapist for the Chicago Wolves hockey team. Dan's first year with the team coincided with the Wolves first championship and since then, the team has won four Calder Cup trophys, the most current win June 12th, 2008.
Dan describes the type of massage he performs as Trigger Point Therapy. The Rolf Technique and the sports massage technoques all blend together depending on the client's needs. Dan is an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is licensed by the State of Illinois.
